Carl has worked on various films and programs with different people over the years, including Chris Bystrom, John Carper, Greg Loehr, and Doc Ball. Currently, he has been working as a commercial producer for an NBC affiliate for over two decades.

Loehr is well known for subverting traditional surfboard design & construction and made lasting contributions to the industry, particularly in the field of surfboard materials. Loehr played a key role in the development of epoxy technology, which he believed could produce a lighter, stronger, and more environmentally friendly surfboard. Through his company, Resin Research, Loehr kept the technology alive in the US surf markets for over 40 years.
